"My whanau and i enjoyed our night in the family motel rooms. Definately the better option for families and much quierer then the bunk cabins. Staff were amazing and the pools were just wow. Make sure u get in a good soak while you're there,you will feel brand new lol. Thanknyou opal hot springs we will be back again soon."

"The place was bare bones and simple, but clean, comfortable, and quiet. There was no heat so I had to use the extra blanket they provided. A cross between a motel and a hostel is a great way to describe it. Private room with shared everything else. That’s all I needed."

View from the kitchen window breathtakingly beautiful - the farm landscape framed by the lovely flowers in the garden. No wifi in the apartment itself, although it is available at reception - but I had adequate mobile data reception so just stuck with that."

"We weren't quite sure what to expect, as we are not normally into the glamping style of accommodation. But we loved every bit of what this place had to offer. Peaceful, no TV, surrounded by nature, over looking lake, fishing rod, kayaks, BBQ, selection of fresh produce on arrival, no neighbours anywhere close, what more could you want for serious downtime. Being a bus it has 'bus' sized amenities so you have to be prepared for that. Having said that it had a full sized very comfortable bed. Also...

"Di's place was everything we needed: great location, comfortable place, wonderful host. We stayed here between a trip from Waitomo one day and Hobbiton the next. We appreciated the cereal, milk and coffee provided as well as the fridge and laundry. We would stay again in a heartbeat. It was 3rd pla e to stay on our trip and definitely our fave."

"Starlight valley was even better then we could imagine. There is not words for its beauty. It was close to lots of great hiking and 20 min to hobbiton. The Host Rachel was the kindest most helpful person and was the savior of our trip after we had some car issues. She was a great example of the kind hearted Kiwi people. Would defiantly love to stay again."
